About

The Surrey Police Band is a self-supporting organisation funded by the subscription of its members. It was established in 2007 with the understanding that its members shift patterns meant that they would not always be able to attend rehearsals. This flexible ethos towards attendance has subsequently attracted people from many walks of life including the police, military, civil service & wider civilian community.

The primary aim of the band is to entertain audiences, whilst honouring the service & sacrifice made by Police personnel throughout the UK. The band raises significant funds for numerous charities, in particular supporting the Chief Constable’s chosen charity. Performances have included playing at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, the Dorking Halls, St Barbara’s Church, Lakeside Country Club, Emmanuel Church, Normandy Village Hall, Godalming Borough Hall, High Cross Church & numerous bandstands. In 2018, the band played a significant role performing for the WW1 Centenary Commemorations in Hay-on-Wye, it went back to the town in 2021 for the WW2 Commemorations, and again in 2024 for a D-Day 80 Tour of Hereford, Builth Wells and Hay-on-Wye.

The Band’s concert series at Normandy has become well-known for its captivating musical programmes, exquisite homemade interval treats and impressive fundraising raffles – if you are yet to experience it, why not come and see what you’ve been missing?
